A Life in the Relocation Industry
Jakub Krpeš
Working in the relocation industry means standing at the intersection of people, places, and change. Few understand this better than Jakub Krpeš, Relocation Consultant at the Voerman / Eurohome Prague office. Born and raised in Prague, Jakub supports international assignees settling into one of Central Europe’s most dynamic capitals. Since joining the team in 2022, he has combined deep local knowledge with personal international experience to guide families through some of life’s most impactful transitions. For Jakub, relocation is not just about logistics, but about helping people feel at home in a new chapter of their lives.
Finding His Way into Relocation
The Prague office opened in 2015 and has grown alongside the city’s expanding international profile. Jakub joined the team in 2022 and quickly became a trusted point of contact for assignees arriving in Czechia. Now 36, he supports individuals and families throughout the relocation process, helping them navigate housing, schooling, and everyday local systems.
Jakub’s path into relocation was shaped by experience rather than formal training. Earlier in his career, he worked as an assignment consultant for a relocation management company, where he began to notice gaps in how assignees were supported. Living abroad himself, including time spent in Canada, made those gaps tangible. Processes that once felt routine suddenly became complex, and that perspective has stayed with him ever since.
“Living abroad showed me how different systems can be,” Jakub explains. “It also showed me how important it is to explain things clearly and practically.”
Why Prague Feels Like Home
Jakub speaks with confidence about Prague as a relocation destination. The city continues to attract international talent thanks to its central location in Europe and strong connectivity. Safety is another major factor, particularly for families. Prague is consistently ranked among the safest cities in Europe, which plays a significant role in relocation decisions.
Education is equally important. International schools in and around Prague offer high‑quality options, making the city suitable for longer‑term assignments. Economically, the Czech Republic hosts a diverse mix of industries, including manufacturing, medical companies, IT developers, and global digital platforms.
Jakub also notices clear patterns among assignees. IT specialists often relocate alone for a limited period, while senior management roles more commonly involve family moves. Each profile comes with different expectations, requiring flexibility and sensitivity.
A Region on the Rise
Looking ahead, Jakub believes Central Europe is becoming increasingly important within international mobility. Many multinational organizations are positioning cities like Prague as regional hubs for the EMEA region. As a result, demand for relocation services is expected to continue growing.
At the same time, the relocation industry itself is evolving. Jakub anticipates a future that is more digital, more sustainable, and more flexible. Companies are looking for faster, technology‑supported solutions while still expecting personal guidance. Tight housing markets add complexity, making the role of relocation consultants even more critical.
“Relocation experts will play a key role in the coming years,” Jakub notes.

What Makes the Work Meaningful
What stands out most about Jakub is his commitment to the people he supports. For him, success is not measured by completed checklists, but by how settled families feel once the process is complete.
“Relocating to another country isn’t just about moving from one place to another,” he reflects. “It’s about starting a new chapter. Helping people feel at home makes all the difference.”
