Change of custom rules household goods

Published on 15 December 2014

Per the 1st of January 2015, the customs rules and regulations will change for importing household goods into The Netherlands. Although customs still requires immigrants to provide them with the basic information, it is no longer necessary to apply for the so called “Vrijstelling Verhuisgoederen” (import permit).

This means that it is now possible to send all groupage shipments to the European mainland via POE Rotterdam and use our facilities and European network to distribute these in an efficient and competitive way.

The new rules and regulations will now allow overseas agents to send their consolidated containers to POE Rotterdam and with the support of Voerman International distribute it throughout all of Europe and Russia.
