History
Innovation and an ultimate high level of service were the main basic elements for an "other" type of service, which accommodated the modern expat in a better way than available at that time. In addition to the international moving activities, in 1988 a new and until then unknown support for the expat and family was introduced, the Relocation Service. Especially in Central and Eastern Europe, this was an unprecedented success, and especially in Russia, the Czech Republic and Poland, Voerman quickly became market leader. A position it still holds.
With the introduction of 20 'containers, for both storage and European transport, Voerman continued a trend that is no longer indispensable in today’s moving industry. In 1995 the first modern computer-controlled container warehouses were realized at various strategic locations, close to the ports/airports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Voerman currently operates container warehouses with a total capacity of over 3,000 TEU’s. They are among the largest of their kind in the international moving industry and meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The offices of Voerman and Eurohome in The Hague, after their recent renovation, are a paragon of efficiency and as such fully aligned with The New Way of Work, with various extra features for a maximum co2 reduction.
The initiative and establishment of UTS in 1985 resulted in an extensive international and strategic cooperation with selected partners around the world, as well as in several and multi-year contracts with major global corporate accounts. It also meant the start of an era of international expansion and new initiatives in Eastern Europe and the African continent.
Despite of economic recessions and a challenging market, the Voerman group experiences a very healthy growth. Thanks to a multi-year vision, with focus on people and environment, new initiatives in IT, Voerman 2.0, active participation in RedSky, a global IT organization, extensive certification programs and expansion into new regions. The people at Voerman are more than confident about the future.
